Go Asus direct cu II geforce gtx 770 as the extra cooling provides better OC headroom and a quieter, more stable card all round. You shouldn't believe the radeon hype. They always say that their cards outperform but they seldom do. Go forth and conquer!

OK those cards are fairly equal in strength but the 290 will be noisier under load, take more power and won't OC as well. The 780 only wins due to the direct cu II that provides 20% better cooling... Which translates to quieter and more OC headroom, more stable too

Yeah but the r9 290x is a jet engine, power hungry, heat crazy card. If you care about noise, electricity bills or overall case heat then I would go NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNVIDIA

Yeah, uhhh, also check out your power supply to see if it can crank the amount of amps needed on the 12v rail that you plug that beast into. In all honesty everything else in your system will bottleneck the 780ti soooo you may want to consider upgrading all the things! Go forth and conquer!

ditch the evga and go the Asus Direct CU II Geforce GTX 780 ti. The extra cooling will give you better headroom if you ever want to OC or will just be a more quiet, more stable card that will let you maxx ALL THE THINGS!!! Go forth and conquer!

+1, it's not all about wattage, it's mostly about how many amps can be provided safely on the rail. XFX and Seasonic should suit that nice expensive card of yours ;)

I have your exact same card and it never goes above 60c... It's auto set to increase the fan when it hits 60c and I think the fan has only ever gone to about 67% usage. If airflow isn't really the issue in your case(PUN TOTES INTENDED) then I would assume something is wrong with the card. I...

Always Asus Direct CU II. The extra 20% cooling gives you OC headroom and a quieter PC in general. IT should last longer, looks better and is just generally more awesome. :D
