    [SOLVED] CPU Comparison

Honestly, they're all older 4c/4t chips with similar clocks. I'd be surprised if you'd notice much of a difference between any of them at all, at least based on how my i7-4790K doesn't perform noticeably faster than my older i7-2700K.

Question E5300 does not want to go over 345fsb no matter what i do

I don't quite see how running something that can use multiple threads, but isn't (like Cinebench in single thread mode) would differ significantly from something that can't use multiple threads

Question E5300 does not want to go over 345fsb no matter what i do

I can only speculate here, since that's an insane clock speed, but I'd guess not particularly impressive. Let's take Cinebench R15 as a benchmark, since I actually have a load of scores for various CPUs for that. For me, a 3GHz P4 Prescott scored 46pts. Assuming that the score increases more...

Question Windows 8.1 "toolbars" menu missing from taskbar

So I was attempting to install BatteryBar on my laptop (A Thinkpad T440p), running Windows 8.1, and it didn't show up. The instructions say to right click the taskbar, and go to the "toolbars" menu, however no such option exists. How can I make it show up, so I can add the batterybar to my...

Xeon x3430 running at 2 volts???

Considering the CPU isn't smoking/on fire, whatever is reporting that voltage must be wrong. 2V would kill it pretty quickly, and until it died the temps would be astronomically high. I'd look at what other programs like HWinfo say if you really want to know what voltage it's running at, but...

    xeon x3470 with P7P55DeLX

I have also got a P7P55D-E LX and can confirm it works with several X3430 and X3440 CPUs. Here is an example of it running an X3430 with mild OC. No BIOS update or anything needed, just dropped them in and away it went.I think ASUS just didn't bother to test the Xeons for compatibility with...

i7-7820X max clocks is this normal ?

I'd suspect a glitch in the monitoring software. Your cores are most definately not running at 18GHz. Sometimes you can get weird results like that that can be safely ignored. Your CPU has 8 cores. That's why you only see 8 cores in the temperature readings. Those cores can process two threads...

GTX 1070 driver crashes when idle

Short of RMAing it and hoping EVGA will actually replace it, getting another 1070 to test with will be pretty difficult. Thanks, I'll have a go with the other PSU and see if anything changes. If not then as long as it only happens very infrequently and isn't actually damaging anything I think...

GTX 1070 driver crashes when idle

Hi, so sorry I haven't replied, I missed the notification. I can try my old 680 in there, but cause of how infrequently the crashes happen, I'd have to have it in for a couple of months to tell anything. I've got another 550W PSU around somewhere too, so I'll try that as well. Yeah I've had it...

    Your Experience with Windows 10

I know, I've re-enabled it. Also the Right Click -> Preview opens with whatever the default program is for me, so in my case it opens them in Fireworks, same as double-clicking (sorry I mistyped in my previous post, it's supposed to read Program, More Programs, Windows Photo Viewer)

    Your Experience with Windows 10

But it just isn't. At least, not in my experience. Having tested W10 on several PCs (specs listed below), performance is at best identical to Windows 7, and in most cases, slightly worse... System 1: ■ Intel Xeon E5450 @ 4.1GHz ■ 8GB DDR2 @ 950MHz ■ Nvidia GTX 570 ■ 64GB Samsung SSD System...

GTX 1070 driver crashes when idle

Hi guys, I have an EVGA GTX 1070 SC that's about a year old now, and it's displaying some odd problems. Basically I will get intermittent driver crashes, but only when the GPU is idling. Under load/in games it is rock solid.... What happens: When idling (so far its happened when on the...

    Your Experience with Windows 10

Finally managed to convince my PC to install the creators update (that's 1703, not 1709. WU still doesn't acknowledge 1709's existence) - it no longer just freezes on the boot screen. Now, I have a couple of questions: First off, my PC now goes through 2 boot screens. First off there is the...
