I've never had reliability problems with Palit Cards. Whilst there may be faster, more polished manufacturers when going for the same model, I would say you have to go for the 1070.

I've had the same thing happen twice over the years. Both times the card was fine and it turned out to be m/board & psu problems. Try swapping out the stuff if you can.

Agreed, go for the 1070. 8GB of Ram will be fine for most things as long as you make sure you don't have 15 chrome tabs open at the same time as playing the latest mega-game.

Possibly your old drive was set up in sata mode while a newer bios will have a AHCI default. If that's the case. change bios back to sata and it should be recognised.

Hi, Under load, the Turbo Boost frequency for both across 4 cores is 3.9GHz. (It's more aggressive on the 8 series.) The only time you lose out is in single core boost, which you won't notice. (4 vs 4.1 GHz) It's got to be an 8400.
