Cheers, your suggestion was spot on. I rechecked the processsor fan, and it was not properly seated. After reseating, it now runs OK. Now for the fun bit, installing Windows XP! Thanks for that

I tried unistalling the Audigy sound card, put it in another slot, and XP recognised it OK, and installed the native XP drivers. But when I come to install the Creative programs and drivers from CD, after running setup it still says that it cannot find a soundcard. The card does work however...

I have experienced exactly the same problem, running on Abit KR7A, and with n o success to date. I even purchased the latest CD for Audigy on XP from Creative's eStore, and still I cannot load the software. Has anyone got a way of resolving this?

I contacted the supplier where I bought the goods, and they are sending me another motherboard, because they think there may be a problem. By the way I am using 2400 DDR also. I will keep you posted on the outcome.

I have tried manually setting the chip as suggested, but still it will not boot after saving the settings. I have to clear the CMOS and start again.

I am looking at purchasing a GeForce 2 graphics card, and am not sure whether to go for a GTS 64 Mb or GTS Pro 64 Mb. Is the Pro really worth the extra money? Also which make of card would anyone recommend, Creative, Guillemot/Hercules, Asus etc?
