There could definitely be a CPU bottleneck by an 8350 in games that don't support a lot of threads (as indicated by less than 100% GPU useage) If you haven't overlclocked your 8350 yet, I'd recommend it as long as you have an aftermarket heatsink. That would help to reduce the CPU bottleneck

If you are sticking with the 6xxx series processors, I would recommend getting an ASrock z170 motherboard, as they are supposedly releasing a BIOS update to their boards that enables overclocking on non K processors.

Have you tried overclocking your cpu? The stock clock for that processor is only 2.8ghz and many people report an overclock of about 4ghz, which should reduce any cpu bottleneck you have. For single player games I prefer to have the graphics settings turned up higher to give it a better quality look. The only time I would prefer to have the settings lowered in order to get max frames is on a competitive online game (mainly shooters)

They are the same CPU, but the 6350 comes with a slight factory overclock. If you plan to overclock it yourself, get which ever one is cheaper

You could probably find some psus around for $20-30 cheaper. Just make sure it's from a trusted brand. Also, if you can find a cheaper psu you will probably only need around 650w maximum with that build

With a gtx 970 at 1080p you should be able to play all of the newest games on either completely max settings or very close to it

A 2500k is still within a few fps of the newest intel cpus on most games. With an overclock, the 2500k is even faster than the new stock i5s in gaming
