First new build - extremely low fps in SC2, Crysis

Interestingly, re-seating the power cables (or powering down), seems to have resolved the issue. I am now getting: 750 fps on Fuzzy Stress test, 91 fps on Fuzzy Benchmark. 250 fps on Tessy Stress test, 70 fps on Tessy Benchmark. GPU-Z shows 99% on Benchmarks, Video Load shows 0% on all...

First new build - extremely low fps in SC2, Crysis

LOL - The monitor is connected to the GPU, not the Mobo (that would have been simple!). I did confirm that I have both 6-pin power connectors fully seated in the GPU. The BIOS is set to AHCI mode. I have not tried any OC on this machine. EVGA OC Scanner still shows 8 fps on Fuzzy Benchmark...

    1st ever build - Mid-High Gaming - Need advice

aznshinobi, Thanks for the review! I was under the mistaken impression that if you went Ivy, you had to go Z77 to make it work?! Good to know! I saw good pricing on a GTX 670 today on Newegg (cheaper than than GTX580!) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130787 I will...

    1st ever build - Mid-High Gaming - Need advice

1st post - I have been reading/lurking here for a few weeks. My current Dimension 8400 (P4 w/ HT, Nvidia 8400GS, 3 GB RAM), is running, but it gets balky with multiple open pages, and new games have it outmatched (Crysis is 'hitchy', if you come out of D2, and then back in, all the video...
