Question Incorrect psu pin out for new motherboard

Thank you. My understanding grows. A part of my hesitence was related to seeing that the new motherboard, according to pcpartpicker, was not compatible with the psu. Then I checked seasonic and did not find a listing of them being compatible either. Thanks again

Question Incorrect psu pin out for new motherboard

Please forgive me my ignorance. I did find one cable that is correctly marked "CPU", which is the split 4/4 that will make an eight, and it does fit, but the plug pattern does not match. It does fit without forcing, but doesnt the plug have to match the socket?

Question Incorrect psu pin out for new motherboard

Hello everyone. I'm pretty fresh in the build department and have come accross an issue with my build. I verified all the parts I purchased for my build, but at the last minute the motherboard I purchased was not going to arrive, and I chose a different model, after my other parts had already...

Question Huge fps drops, stuttering and freezing

It's doubtful this has anything to do with it, but I've heard these symptoms once before. Years ago my friend lived near a naval base and would have these strange drop outs. He never really got it confirmed, but believes it was the microwave burst transmitter at the base. When he moved away...

[SOLVED] Old guy, new build, lots of questions

Thank you mdd1963 for your sage advice. I totally agree as well with that line of thinking. There is most definitely a time and a place for it, but this kind of build is not it for sure. To me, upgrading to a closed loop cooling solution at some point with this build will be for aesthetics...

    [SOLVED] What's needed for upgrade?

Unlike some components in a system that just need replaced or repaired upon failure, if a PSU fails there is a possability of component damage to anything connected to it. (read, no longer usable). Kind of like a lighting strike to your system. There are a lot of good quality and fairly...

[SOLVED] Old guy, new build, lots of questions

I do not have a real hard cap, it's more about taking some from each paycheck to upgrade the base system when I am able to, and when I find the need to upgrade a certain component. I chose the x470 because of extras of the high end board. I know it doesn't have the X570's better wifi and better...

[SOLVED] Old guy, new build, lots of questions

Hello all. I am building my first "real" system, and although I have some experience, that was a long time ago and systems and components have changed so much since the days of Voodoo cards and the CD burners. I have purchased the majority of my components, but I am still deciding on a few...
