Question Need Help to upgrade my CPU and Monitor.

27" at 1440p is the sweet spot. anything 120hz to 240hz VRR. Usually you can use monitors for a long time and that thing will last you even if you upgrade the system later. DLSS will make 1440p very usable. The only thing I would reconsider is the processor.

Discussion Thoughts on Hyper-Threading removal ?

Yes, but depending on the architecture hyperthreading might not be necessary. Its not like they turn it off on Raptor Lake. They will not use hyperthreading on a different architecture. I don't know where the rule is written down that every processor architecture will benefit from...

Question Is the 4070 Ti Super worth the extra money ?

Overclocking on modern Nvidia graphics cards is kinda obsolete anyway. Due to turboboost you get best performance out of the box anyway and whatever you can squeeze out of those high end cards manually is neglectable (like getting from 102fps to 104???). If anything, maybe a little VRAM...

    Question 13700k undervolting question

So, I am now at minus -0.15 volts with the bios settings stated in the my initial post. I hit now over 30000 points in mulitcore Cinebench R23 with my 100% ultra silent air cooled setup. This is about 1000 points more than without the undervolt at stock settings. Still not seeing any errors or...

Question 4080 super getting the same FPS as 3080ti

So, the CPU is running a game loop for each frame. The whole game code to calculate what happens in the game, all instructions, calculates all the changes including location of player, npcs, game objects, inventory, and coordinates for all polygons. Pretty much everything that happens and...

Question 4080 super getting the same FPS as 3080ti

It's a CPU bottle neck. Time for a CPU upgrade. I upgraded my CPU before I upgraded to the 4080. Back than I did run a lot of MS Flight Simulator which is very much CPU bottlenecked. At least the 4080 can do frame gen which is nice in CPU bottleneck situations. But don't use frame gen if you...

Discussion Thoughts on Hyper-Threading removal ?

When they can achieve higher performance without Hyperthreading than with Hyperthreading, I really don't care. If they decided to not use Hyperthreading due to the fact that performance with it is worse, than so what?

I can set that in Cinebench?

    Question 13700k undervolting question

I can do the single core benchmark. but you said "handful" of cores earlier, so on a 16 core cpu you a handful would be more than one, I guess?

    Question 13700k undervolting question

I am satisfied with the out of box performance as well. But it runs hot in benchmarks. Gaming temps are fine. I was more curious and want to play around with it. Just to see what I can change with with just lowering voltages. Seems like I can get a bit more performance at lower temps than at...

    Question 13700k undervolting question

Would y` Would you recommend doing it manually in BIOS or should I use the XTU from Intel? In the XTU I cannot set an LLC value and it seems less stable at lower voltage offsets.

    Question 13700k undervolting question

So, I just have to find the sweet before lowering more voltage will lose performance or not being stable, right?

    Question 13700k undervolting question

Yes, the PC is for gaming. When it comes to the settings, it was more like if I turning the right gears, not by how much I turn them. So, is my undervolting approach right?

    Question 13700k undervolting question

Hi, I am running a 13700k at stock for a couple of years now. I just moved my PC in a new case and tinkering around with it a bit. In the past with previous CPUs I did quite a bit of overclock. But haven't done so in awhile since I don't even bother with the13700k. But yesterday I played around...
