I think I have read that I can use the cable i stated above but am not getting too hopeful as I have seen that the extra 4 pin should only be reqquired for an extreme overclock

Thanks for your help again. I dont seem to have a gable with 4 pin. Can I use the separate cable which is an 8 pin one side with a split 8 pin on the other side?

Yes the system works fine in that config I checked the bios in cpu-z software it states 1.51 No I just have the 8 pin connector plugged in, is there a power issue?

Hi thanks for the reply. I plugged into the RTX 3080 as I don't have any inbuilt graphics, I hope this is right :) The power cables to the GPU are fine as they work when I smiply change CPU without changing any cables. I have not reset the CMOS as this is something I have never done. Sorry...
