    4+1 phase power and 125W FX-83xx CPU

Community, I have an 870 AM3+ Chipset with 4+1 power phase (ASRock 870 iCafe R2.0) and I am looking to upgrade from a 955BE@3.8GHz (which should be drawing around 170W at load) to an FX-83xx CPU. My motherboard boasts that it can handle 140W CPU's and as of it's most recent BIOS update...

    AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X Review

And to the folks over at Tom's Hardware, it's obvious that Threadripper offers more PCIE lanes than Intel. This, I would argue is one of the most important features of Threadripper. This allows for a much different array of possible configurations than Intel. I would like to think that a...

    AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X Review

What I find as being the most annoying, frustrating, and disgusting practice is that of posting fake reviews or posting comments that are only aimed at praising one company over the other or one product over the other. The amounts of absurd bias that permeate from these comments just pollutes...

AMD TrueAudio Next Reserves Part Of Your GPU For Physics-Based Acoustic Rendering

"Once again, AMD is one step behind nvidia and intel in both innovation and performance" Actually, it's been nVidia who has copied AMD here (AMD invented True Audio years ago. nV copied and added Audio Works, and AMD simply updated their True Audio into True Audio Next, with that said, it goes...

AMD Radeon RX 470 4GB Review

"The abandoned plans for an eight-pin plug are even more surprising in light of the fact that this is a RX 470-specific PCB. It's not a re-purposed RX 480 design. Believe us, we're just as curious as you about Asus' thinking here." This is because 8-Pin isn't necessary. So many people, so many...

    AMD processor that beats i3-3220

An i5-4670k would require an upgraded motherboard. There are Intel fans and AMD fans, I am an AMD fan to the core and can and will defend them in all areas, with logic and reason, but even I, being and AMD fan will admit, that in terms of performance, Intel is currently the king. If you are...

Would you purchase an 8-Core AMD Steamroller/Excavator CPU if it were available today?

I'm thinking if it came out on FM2+, was quad module, and could reach clock ranges from 4-5GHz, then I'd almost absolutely buy an FX rather than getting say, a i5-4670K (as it would be priced against) and save money from having to spend 50% more just for Hyperthreading on a i7-4790K or similar...

Would you purchase an 8-Core AMD Steamroller/Excavator CPU if it were available today?

I completely understand that the FX8xxx and 9xxx CPU's are available, but they are all based on Piledriver. I'm talking about if there were FX CPU's based on Steamroller or Excavator architectures.

Would you purchase an 8-Core AMD Steamroller/Excavator CPU if it were available today?

Just curious as to just who, out there, would actually purchase an AMD CPU if they were to create an 8-core (quad module) FX series based on the Steamroller or Excavator architectures. I'm still running a Phenom II 955BE@4.0, and am in the market to upgrade and most likely going with a 4790K...

    new CPU: i7 4770k/i5 4670k or FX-9590

If you are going for a gaming rig and want to future proof your system, forget the 4670k. Yeah, its a great quad core, but everything, including games are moving toward multi-threading, where 8 cores (virtual or physical) will yield better performance. Both the PS4 and XBoxOne have 8 core AMD...

AMD CPU speculation... and expert conjecture

I might have some good news fellas, though I wouldn't look too deep into it, but I found AMD's Roy Taylor on Twitter and I sent him a message quoting him saying, "...we still love PC gamers and we're absolutely committed to them." and I asked him then why we aren't seeing an 8 core Steamroller...

EVGA SuperClocked GeForce GTX 660 2GB or MSI Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB?

I'm sorry to all of the NVidia lovers out there, I'm not biased toward one or the other when it comes to GPUs, I run an NVidia card currently myself, but honestly, the HD7870 is a better card all around than the GTX660 (The OP seem's a bit confused as he says GTX600 non-Ti in the title of the...
