Just a former Engineer with a love of things mechanical and electronic. Retired at 53 and consider myself a mid-range Audiophile and low-range Videophile. I have ZERO interest in Gaming! I just want to know how to set-up PCs running Windows 7 64 Bit Professional! Yeah, I still refuse to go to Windows 10! Yeah, Yeah, I know my outhouse is a bit behind-the-times and someday hope to enjoy the luxuries of indoor plumbing and central heating, but for now I just want to better understand what it takes to just watch Video on a 4K monitor at 60FPS. I have run AMD processors for years with Zero Issues... well, at least until 4K debuted. Now I'm experiencing some confusing results attempting to step-up to 4K with my AMD Machines. Built my first Intel core i7-9700k paired with a 2560X1600 monitor, 32 GB or RAM and a 370 Chipset. ZERO ISSUES! But once I tried to use my older AMD FX machines on the Samsunt 48" 4K TV the true Hell began!

My former main hitter (replaced by the Intel build) was moved to a spare room for back-up data storage. Had it paired to a 1440X900 TV/Monitor... it Choked on 2.7 or 4K videos. Moved it to the Main 4K TV and it worked flawlessly showing 4K at 60FPS using at first the RX 460 and now upgraded RX 470. I have the same machine (basically) in other versions. I have the same MB but with the FX-4300 upstairs paired to a 2560X1600. It chokes on 4K Video (RX 460 Video Card). Yet downstairs the same MB with the FX-4300 on a 2560X1600 monitor with RX 460 Video plays fine. My former business computer is even better with a 6-Core AMD FX-6100 on a 1080P Monitor, RX 460 Video and 16 GB Ram also Chokes! I'm Confuzed! Help guys! BTW: All are running Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit.
