Ha yeah I know, this was just a build I used with money I got selling the parts that were in this computer which my neighbor put on the curb. It was a cute little processor I was hoping to max out for the time being but oh well :/

I have a feeling this PSU is still good and it's 650 watt so I'll try and keep it. Honestly I'll probably just try and recoup some losses and sell the apu and upgrade the build to an fx series or go intel if I really wanna dig into my pockets. If you're interested in the APU let me know

Ha I have the APU already, but now I've overspent for it since I have no motherboard. I wouldn't really wanna spend more than 25 bucks on the motherboard, which is probably unrealistic new. If you have any links I'd love to check em out.

I purchased the board used on craigslist and I got the board and apu for a 60 bucks so I kinda feel like he threw the board in knowing it was dead. He never responded to me after he sold it so that's kinda what I figure, the psu worked with the previous motherboard that I had so I won't be sure...

I figured it out. It wasn't super obvious when I purchased it, but it looks like whatever is right next to the atx 12v pin is blown (vram?) I didn't notice it when I purchased the board so I'm not sure if it worked before, but I have a feeling it didn't. Now it looks like I've just got an apu :/

I have a a8 3870k with a a75m d2h motherboard that does nothing put make the fin spin for a half second and then stops when I attempt to power on. I did the paper clip check and the psu is working. The fans spin when the atx 12v pin is not connected. I'm not sure what else to try. Any ideas?

Would you guys recommend the OEM versions? Would it be better to purchase the OEM for windows 7? I've never really installed anything but Linux and am very frustrated with this install process.

I registered as the student and I qualified for the 69.99 version. Nothing free as far as I know. How is windows 8 embedded different from pro? Any chance there's a work around to install either a trial or previous version of windows that will let me use the 8 or 8.1 pro student versions?
