    Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ATX vs MSI 970 GAMING ATX

    990fx boards are generally better over 970 boards. The 990fx will have more features and will most likely yield the higher overclockable. Also for case suggestions I'd recommend cases from fractal design, nzxt, and phanteks as they always have solid case offerings.

    Wait a sec that's a full tower case which is nice, but unless your really going to fill it with a ton of stuff and have a custom watercooling setup a mid tower would be better as it isn't as massive.

    If I were you I'd go the Intel route as AMD, being good for the money, has fallen behind in the CPU department and probably won't be back in until Zen arrives. Until then I would recommend an Intel I5 4670k as it is a great gaming chip. Also just a word of advice a "Full Tower" case is massive...
