At the login screen if click the power button and holding down the shift key and then clicking restart does not work, try the following: 1. shut down the PC. 2. while holding the escape button, turn the PC back on. 3. select F11 to access system recovery options.

Before doing a full reinstall try this relatively simple solution first. Instead of doing shift and restart, follow the steps below: 1. Turn off the PC. 2. Simultaneously hold down the escape button and restart the PC. 3. Wait for the recovery options to appear 3. Access the troubleshoot menu.
