i just built my pc 8 months back with an i7 2600k . i bought it because i had a good deal and the second gen is still a beast . ocs better than any further gens. No need to replace it

The k version is unlocked which means you can overclock it . If you have the money go with the i7 if not the i5 is sufficient for gaming. Cheers
