    [SOLVED] CPU Fan error

Well checking first that your not overloading the header with too many fans, is it possible to use a fan splitter and piggy-back the CPU fan onto a system header that you're currently using for case fans? I suspect the error is a problem with the ASUS bios - is it new? Has the behaviour of the...

    [SOLVED] CPU Fan error

Okay, do you have a spare chasiss fan header you can try connecting the CPU header to? And have you installed the most recent bios for the AMD FX-9590 that Asus recommends?

[SOLVED] Need some advice before upgrading my PC

I think non-se just means it's not the AMD special edition - only trick to watch for is that it has the AM4 mounting plate. If your Thermaltake Chaser A31 has enough clearance, you can just raise one of the fans to clear the ram, the nhd15 has an excellent fant mounting mechanism. If not, just...

    [SOLVED] CPU Fan error

Hi Hesham_3del, I'm wondering if there's more than one problem - and one of the problems is CPU overheating. If the thermal paste has degraded, the CPU cooler isn't going to be very effective. Have you received an actual CPU Fan error message from windows or bios? All the best.

    [SOLVED] CPU Fan error

Hi Hesham_3del, Maybe there's a few problems going on here. If you're thermal paste has degraded due to time (sounds like it) then temperature spikes from the CPU might be causing some problems. As rickypicky5 says, replacing the paste and ensuring the cooler is well seated is a good first...

    [SOLVED] CPU Fan error

Hi Hesham_3del, Not sure what's going on there. When you adjust the fans to Turbo, does the temperature increase even if you're not putting a heavy load on the PC? When you set the fans to silent, does the PC continue to run smoothly when you put the PC under load, e.g. video editing? How long...

Question Laptop screen goes black after disconnecting from power

Can you confirm that the specs on the battery are correct for your laptop? Can you put a multimeter on it? Sending video output to an external monitor / TV won't require anywhere near as much wattage / amperage as powering the laptop's own screen.

[SOLVED] Need some advice before upgrading my PC

Hi eli150, The Noctua NH-U9S is quite a good cooler although I think the NH-U12S is a better choice: https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/noctua_nh_d9l_and_nh_u9s_cpu_cooler_review,11.html You could also try the Wraith Prism cooler that comes for free with the r9 3900x and upgrade later if...

Question Laptop screen goes black after disconnecting from power

Hmm, still worried it might be a problem with the new battery. A few users reported success with the following (https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/379051/Computer+screen+blank+out): I fixed this problem recently. The laptop screen was very dark, yet I could see everything on an external...

Question Laptop screen goes black after disconnecting from power

Hi TomasLTU, how annoying. Can you test the battery at all? I read that it's new but wonder if its output (unplugged) is such that the os decides it can't provide enough power to keep the screen on. Not sure where you bought it but if it's new and faulty surely you are entitled to a return or...

[SOLVED] Need some advice before upgrading my PC

I think the R9 3900x is a better choice. How hot runs depends on what you do with it - if your happy with running it at stock the included Wraith Prism is fine (you could start with that and upgrade later if your not happy with it)...

[SOLVED] Need some advice before upgrading my PC

Can I suggest you re-think this? The R9 3900x runs hot, you want a good cooler for good performance. Saving a little on the cooler whilst paying for a top performing CPU isn't really the best plan. I too prefer to buy from the one place, but sometimes you need to go to a few shops to get what...

Question PC wakes every morning around 5am. But cannot pin down the wake alarm

I've had PCs in the past that would wake from sleep if a device on the same powerboard (e.g. desklamp) was turned on (long story). Is there anything on the same circuit in your house that goes off regularly at 5 am (obviously not an alarm clock!) - e.g. a water heater turning on? All the best
