Id I'm installing a clean windows install I can't really apply the fix above, since it requires windows to be installed. Does windows 10 support nvme drives?

Well this is certainly a better solution! I'll just get the GTX 1070 with my current board and hopefully sometime in the future when I'm ready to upgrade my CPU, I'll grab a new board to go with it. Thanks for the answers!
