    Low end vid card question

Watch DVDs, watch TV (live and recorded). Don't have HD yet, but figured having HD output would extend the useful life of the card. (better hand down chance)

    Low end vid card question

Looking at a cheap card. I am not doing games but will be doing TV-out. I am looking at ATI 2400 Pro and GeForce 8400 based boards. Is there any significant differences? Am I going too cheap? Do both of these show up as dual monitors? (I think ATI does) Does the TV-out port follow either the...

    A few memory questions

Thanks to all who answered my other question. So here are the new questions. 1) What is the chance I received a bad memory stick in my Patriot DDR2-800 (4-4-4-12, 2.2V) kit. I put the memory in my Intel DG965wh with a 6320 CPU. It boots and runs but crashes later. I am now trying one stick...

    Memory Voltage

You guys are great. All I want to do is get a decent machine out of a bunch of parts that were "CAR" (Cheap After Rebate)! Next is the video card, but that is for a different forum.

    Memory Voltage

Anyone with experience as to what normally happens?

    Memory Voltage

When memory (DDR2) is rated at a certain voltage (2.2V), does that mean it must be run at that voltage, or will it run at the standard 1.8V but not meet its high speed specification (4-4-4-12) unless it is at 2.2v? Will it operate more like typical (5-5-5-15) memory at 1.8V, if that is all the...

    PCI card for second monitor

Does anyone know if an: STB Nitro 3D/GX running an S3 ViRGE/GX chip or a STB Lightspeed 128 running a ET6000 chip or a ATI Mach 64 running an ATI Mach64 chip will work as a second monitor on a P4 machine? If not, when in general did PCI cards become compatable with multiple monitor use?

Advice? Cheap Dual Monitor, i915 on-board graphics

Anyone? Anyone? . . . Beauler? Well, here are my thoughts. 1) a low cost PCI card, ATI 7000 based (or will I have better luck with NVIDEA?) 2) an ADD2 card and put my LCD on that port (Would prefer to usse VGA ports to give me more flexability) Would like to have more confidence that...

Advice? Cheap Dual Monitor, i915 on-board graphics

Anything special I have to do. Are there cards you recommend, or ones known to cause issues? I tried an old PCI card (circa 1997) and I could boot either monitor port, but XP crashed if I tried to boot with a monitor on each. Does the card have to be new enough to know about multiple...

Advice? Cheap Dual Monitor, i915 on-board graphics

I am looking for an inexpensive way to get dual monitor. Nothing fancy nothing fast, just business applications. Can I just throw a PCI card in the computer? Are there certain ones that work best? Is the ADD2 the best/cheap way? (Is there an ADD2 with a VGA output?) Thanks in advance

    Dual Display

Just to be complete I will post what I found. The Intel Graphics chip (Intel Extream Grapghics) uses the AGP address/port, so if you plug in an AGP card it will disable the onboard AGP. Other than that it is just like any other Single output AGP card. If you want a dual-display you must use a...

    Dual Display

I am looking for information on setting up a dual display computer. I am getting an A-Open AX4G motherboard. It has on-board Intel Graphis as well as a 4X AGP slot. Can anyone tell me if I can do dual display with teh on-board VGA and an AGP board, or do I need a PIC Graphis board? Or worse...
