True, but the GPU is a very old one, I have a 7750 in my 2 year old rig!

My build (similar, i3-2120 and more RAM) cost me about $700 new. I doubt it'd go for more than $400, I would give maybe $350 depending on how old it is.

GPUs need special mounting plates and water cooling systems, a CPU water cooler will NOT fit on your 750 Ti.

I can't suggest much, but try using the fans in the case itself, not the cooler. Also try using the stock fans.

If it was black - dead pixel. Are the surrounding pixels slightly discolored? Check up close. If you see a couple of random colours (no matter how tiny) when the screen is completely white, you've earned yourself a half-dead pixel. Same on my phone.
