Well, personally if it were me. I would back everything up, and do a fresh install. But that is me. I would do this for no other reason than peace of mind. There could be little to no risk when going from SSD to SSD but as I stated Personally, I would do a Fresh install.

As long as both the PC and the Laptop HHD has a Sata Hookup you are fine. I use Laptop Hard drives in my PC all the time.
