You might want to look at 8370E, they're basically 8350 with less heat & power consumption. Never go Fx9000 series they're fanbaits.

Xeon chips are created for prolonged heavy stressload, they're capable of running project for weeks or even months, that would trade off some of the performance compared to the regular i7. So you won't be having any performance increase at all.

AMD Fx stock coolers are complete garbages, get your cpu a 3rd cooler, anything tower-hsf with at least 3 heatpipes (yes 3 is enough), do NOT go for low profile or something like that as they'll spread the heat everywhere & mess the air flow in your case. Or get the cheapest closed loop liquid...

fx8350 or 8370E which is released today. Games that support full multicore are appearing so you're fine with 8 cores.

The mainboard has higher temp than cpu that's something odd imo. I honestly think it's a problem with Windows & them drivers. Might not be drivers since your benchmark score is ok. I would reinstall the OS or reset to factory settings.

Just get an i7Haswell-equivalent version of Xeon CPUs (1231v3 or 1246v3 or even higher if your budget allows it) & a decent B85 board then you're good to go. Them Xeons are typically business versions of the i7s AND are optimized for heavy stressload (which is why they're business class CPUs)...

It is sad that tomshardware did this benchmark in open air which pretty much never happens in RL cases. Low profile hsfs are meant to be used in htpc & compact cases which are usually air tight.

It's kind of a let down, especially when even 7770 is cheaper than R7 250 atm.
