So I decided to reboot to safe mode (where glitches are present everywhere) and take a screenshot using lightshot. The result I got was perfectly fine png as attached despite glitches showing on monitor. I am not sure what this means but still, the GPU so far works without any issues. The...
I don't think it's progressive like in your case. I didn't notice any weird behavior in the past 10 days. I will try with another motherboard if I get time to do so.
I would think the same. But the moment you install driver it works as it should. Even bios works normally. But motherboard splash screen or windows without a driver installed show these artifacts. I just tried booting into bios then booting into windows safe mode, and there're no graphical...
I tried changing monitor but that didn't help.
Entering bios fixes the problem temporary (until I shut down my pc).
I did more testing and I found no problems with GPU when gaming.
I was thinking if it could be PCI express slot that's causing that issue, or I didn't insert the gpu properly, but...
Yesterday I got XFX RX 580 4G from my friend. I decided to replace my GTX 1650 with it. I wiped drivers with DDU, and went to replace GPU. After replacement I turn on the PC and I was presented with these graphics glitches on splash screen (Gigabyte Logo) and in Windows itself. I continued with...
I have Kingstone Data Traveler 2.0 16GB.
I tried to flash Windows 7 to it with Rufus when suddenly my PC crashed. When I rebooted and plugged USB in the Windows explorer freeze and I couldn't do anything. The flash drive was still detected but it was empty and unlabeled. You can't format it...
So if you wonder, yes it is possible to run linux/windows on your x86 android tablet. In my case it worked, but you will have to install OS on micro SD or USB Flash drive since 8 or 16GB of internal storage isn't considered enough. Also go with Windows 8 or some lightweight linux distro.
What I am trying to say is that CPU is performing worse than before and GPU is not bottlneck. I mean sometimes I get half of FPS I had before in some games. Some games perform same , but others noticeably worse.
True, but, as I said , performance is worse in games even though they prefer single core performance. I used to have 60+ FPS in Pay Day 2 now I get around 30 while GPU usage is at 50%.
Specs(Setup) :
AMD Athlon II x4 640
8GB RAM Dual Channel @1600MHz
GT 630 OEM (QUADRO K420)
Asus M5A78L-M LE
The rest of parts are from previous build:
500GB+250GB HDD
Intel Celeron G1820
LGA 1550 AsRock H81M
I gave this setup to my brother (except GPU), since I thought it would perform better...
Looks like I secure boot wasn't problem . I booted puppy linux 64bit successful. The problem was in EFI since it's 32bit on most atom Tablets . I'm going to do some testing to see if it's possible to install it.
I bought usb otg cable and there are 2 problems now .
First is that uefi is very minimal . You can only select boot option and disable quiet boot .
Second I tried to boot some linux distros of usb and I had no luck. Looks like secure boot is enabled in bios which prevents Linux kernel from...
Quick update .
I found out that my tablet supports usb otg and I found video on youtube about booting to efi bios with keyboard connected to tablet . I will buy buy that cable in a few days and see if it's doable since he has different device but same chipset . The video is in Spanish so I...
