Not to my knowledge. Some people have suggested F8 or any key to skip it, but it gives no such option and neither work. I've tried refreshing my computer from the install disk, but it said there was an error and couldn't refresh.

Go with a cheap micro atx and a 4th gen pentium. Together those should be about 100 USD

I must say, I'm impressed at what you have just lying about! Really you don't need the SSD and you don't need all that ram. If it's 2 8gb sticks or something like that then I guess throw it in there. If you buy a new motherboard, there should be an option in the bios to RAID the drives instead...

If your dad isn't going to be doing anything super processor-intensive, then you can probably get away with a Haswell i3. Or, if you need the i7, go with a plain old 4770. It's a tad cheaper.
