[SOLVED] Max safe temp on e5 1650 (3930k)

80°C seems unconfortably hot in game. Then again 212 evo is not an adequate cooler for 6 core CPU IMHO. What volatage and frequency are you applying? Is your cooler properly seated and TIM properly applied? I am not sure what are expected temps for this cooler on a 3930k but I sure wouldn't be...

CPU is failing, time for a new build.

Not sure... wait and see... Could still be one of the RAM sticks or broken PSU. If it is you owe me a beer ;)

    Cpu speed drops randomly?

That temp is too high for your CPU. FX-6300 will start throttling at 70°C. Jeeeez man you have been torturing your CPU for over a year or what? Either you have a badly mouted or malfuntioning cooler or you are applying too much voltage. If the CPU fan is running fine, dismount your cooler...

CPU is failing, time for a new build.

Then I would advise: --> set manual CPU voltage to 1.10V or 1.15V (your definitely safe up until 1.20). if still crashed revert to auto and --> test ram sticks per pair. Remove 2 secondary sticks and test run with only 2 sticks installed (8G should still be plenty to work with for a while). if...

CPU is failing, time for a new build.

euhm... why does it state 'Manual Mode' next to your CPU voltage? try setting it to auto and see if it increases or manually set voltage to 1.15V.

CPU running at 100% usage (Accidentally clicked ''solved'' on my previous post)

What are your PC specs and did you try to uninstall the corsair link software as was suggested in the previous thread?

    Cpu speed drops randomly?

could be thermal throttling. What are your CPU core temps during gaming? High CPU temps could be caused by malfunctioning or badly installed cooler.

CPU is failing, time for a new build.

core voltage is low. Is it set to auto? Did you try before to revert back to bios default/optimized settings?

CPU is failing, time for a new build.

I know this kind of troubleshooting can be a real pain in the ass... Random crashes and certainly freezes are sign of instability likely caused by voltage or frequence settings on CPU or RAM. I've had random crashes before caused by misbehaving PSU. PSU are also most likely to break part...

What cpu to pair with 1070?

Go for skylake. 3960x is on ancient platform (2011). You could still consider haswell or haswell-e, but sandy bridge is just too old...

PC just went off, now red CPU LED and no POST

Answer was given... No magic formula... start with the PSU. If you can't swap, then go to repair shop or visit a friend to swap. You could also take the risk and buy a new one. Not much more options i am afraid.

CPU is failing, time for a new build.

Just to say cpu don't usually break that way (with random errors) unless if you have severely overvolted or overheated it. Broken CPU rarely boot. Also performance difference going to from i5 3570k to i5 6600k would not be worth upgrading your complete platform. At least go for i7 then... I...

Getting my Core i7 6800k Soon - General questions before install

Check core temps though not just cpu temp. And certainly dont use any of latest version of prime95 on intel core >2nd generation, the ones that use AVX instructions, as from v26.6 i beleive. They overheat your cpu etc... whatever... your pc will explode if you use anything beyond v26.6...

Getting my Core i7 6800k Soon - General questions before install

Expect higher temps. Intel skylake is much smaller architecture. 14nm vs fx-8350 mountain size (32nm). Much smaller surface to dissipate heat means higher temps, but don't worry as this cpu can handle a lot more heat. Core temps under 80C are within 'normal' range although I would prefer a bit...
