Thanks everyone!
Ok..so I guess I won't sell that board then
The thing is I've never done solder before, and I don't think I have the tool for me to do this..
Now I'm not sure what I can do with that board, I think i'll probably just tell him that the board is dead, so I'll throw it away..
The...
Hallo everyone!
I got a friend who wants me to sell his old PC..
When I disassembled everything, I look at the motherboard, beside dusts, I noticed that the capacitors don't look ok..my guess is that those caps are failling, but i'm not sure..
Here is a Picture of it, and a closer look of it...
No, for an Intel Pentium 4 system, having a higher memory bandwidth (higher clock speed) is more important than having a slower memory speed with tight timing.
I said that because I thought that your motherboard supports Dual Channel memory interface, if so, running 2GB of memory, at PC2100...
Why not run ur memory at 133MHz (PC2100) instead of 166MHz PC2700? since ur processor is a 533FSB, which is actually 133x4, then if you run ur value select 2GB at 133MHz, I'm pretty sure your ram will be able to do CAS2 at PC2100 speed
Hi everyone..
I've been wondering for this question for longtime.
Why is that, more ram we have in our computer, bigger the virtual memory size is recommended?
ex: 512 RAM, Windows suggests 766Virtual memory
1GB RAM, Windows suggests 1534 virtual memory
I'm kinda newb to this area..so...
I could be wrong..
but from my point of view, having 600MHz boost isn't that great.
I mean, nth change, FSB is still 400, L2 Cache is still 512..only thing changes is multiplier...i don't think the performance would increase by that much.
P4 is a bandwidth hungry processor, at 400FSB, the...
PERSONALLY I prefer ATI
but you can't say who's better, it's bias to ask this question.
if you ask ppl who use Linux to play games, they willl surely say nVidia's better.
if you ask ppl who love play HL2, they will surely say ATI's better.
if you ask ppl who play Doom3 based games, they will say...
I would say P4 2.4GHz 533FSB with 1GB ram and an upgraded graphic card, should provide enough performance for a while.
Oh, I'm not sure if your motherboard support for Dual channel (lazy to search, sry), if it does, then don't forget to do dual channel for P4!
Woh...calm down dude..
I think what he meant by that, is....ok true, the extra 36fps is quite big difference for Program, but for human eyes, the difference is almost invisible..
Any 184 pin DDR memory would fit:
PC2100 - DDR266
PC2700 - DDR333
PC3200 - DDR400
PC......(?? I can't remember sry)
since K7S5A supports "only" 266FSB, you can take any of them and they'll work, however, you'll want to take PC3200, cuz the price difference is almost 0, and with faster ram, you...
A Radeon9800 runs perfectly on an ECS K7S5A, if you want, u may want to add some more RAM, and change to an fastest Axp that you can get ..(2400 or 2600 are nice)
