Well just to be safe I reset the laptop last night because I wanted a clean slate with no drivers or whatsoever. It downloaded 17.9.1 but I found out it only supported my discrete gpu and not my fx-8800p. I’ll reinstall steam later in the day and see what happens. Thanks for the help so far!

Hey! so good news, I followed your links which lead me to the DSOM stuff, authorized some stuff through regedit and component services and no more black screen/restarts but I forgot to say this on my first post but when my game crashes it leads to a BSOD stating "Thread stuck in device driver"...

286GB free of 317GB on the drive where windows is installed and 592GB free of 592GB. No games installed but currently installing steam to try download a game and test it. No programs that i have installed other than google, steam, and latest amd drivers. I have not run CCleaner or AV software...
