I would get one of the i3's or i5's and possibly drop down to 4gb's of ram to make up for the price gap. Also that Powersupply doesn't look so good, I'd sub that out for a cx430m cx430

It could be a rodent living in your computer that touched a fan or something lol. On a serious note it may have been your hard drive or disc drive or just something hit a fan.
