    Low core benchmarks but huge core/thread density. Fine for web and app servers. China Unicom recently had a 1 billion dollar server tender. 90% went to domestic chinese cpu. This will likely be the future trend on the server side. More revenue means more RnD and the cycle will continue.

    Having to pay more would encourage Chinese firms to buy and invest in domestic substitutes. Having black market access gpu will also help force domestic companies to be competitive. Some of the "fuss" could just be politics as the real end goal is variation of having it's own domestic chips...

    I kinda don't think the Chinese government see having legal access to the h20 is a big deal since their companies can already get various chips off the black market which makes it price/performance comparable to the huawei ascend. Now if it was the latest more advance chips or euv....

    Rather than use racist toned language like "civilized" , the correct word is "NATO" aligned countries. Also the problem is likely that everone has over bought and over built AI and computing infrastructure.

    Reminds me of an Amiga 2000/3000. The entire thing is kinda of a fail since it doesn't come with a compliment beige white keyboard and monitor.

    Likely it would be done to be sold to US and State government agencies. Kinda surprise it has not been done earlier. Maybe a few nationalist will buy it as well. The rest of us would just vote with our wallets.
