nothing happens when I try to power it on.

Is it possible for a faulty motherboard to kill other components such as the cpu and/or ram?

I have the following components: i5 9400F 2x8 DDR4 sticks of ram Antec VP450 PSU (450W) ASRock B365 Pro ATX Motherboard Those are all brand new parts (except the PSU) which I received today. I put everything together (I've built many PCs in the past so I'm 100% sure I did everything correctly)...
