HDD is at about 1.4TB SSD is currently empy I want to keep everything on the HDD and just get rid of the windows on it. I know I can move things over that with this much data this will take hours

I'm currently overclocked to 4ghz i can send you my bios setup if you want. You could try squize 4.2ghz but it depends on your motherboard and i dont really see the need to push it to the limit.

That is exactly what i did i went from an r7 260x 1gb to a 1060 3gb and its pretty crazy the performance differance. also i recommend that you at least 8gb of ram because most games do use more than 3 now a days. You should chose the best answer in order to close the thread so people dont answer...

he clearly has no money ... and its a much better upgrade from 750 ti to 1060 than buying a brand new cpu platform and staying on a 750 ti. even if he gets the best cpu on the market he is going to get little extra performance because a 750ti is pretty outdated...

My fx6300 overclocks to 4ghz without a problem on the 212evo and most games run very smoothly with only a little stutter here and there nothing game breaking....

i have turned off turbo core as well as power saving thing also i set the speed to 4.2ghz usin 1.3v temps and stability are more than i could have hoped for. But it still bounces up and down....

i have just updated the bios to the newest one the problem is still there. the clocks seem to sit at 4.2ghz when idling but as soon as i throw prime95 on it jumps between 4.2ghz and 3ghz randomly on each core for pretty much no reason i can see

i just installed the evo 212 i got from my ex about 2years ago .... and holly shit thermal margin stays around 40degrees ... when normally it would be reaching into less than 5. But the processor is still only going to 3000mhz and the target voltage is at 1.30 but it stays at 1.2125v

the cpu is supposed to run at 3.5ghz as that is the stock clock... i did not overclock the cpu at all

So like the title suggests my fx6300 seems to never reach a speed higher than 3ghz. when i force it manually to go to 3.5ghz using amd overdrive the temperatures reach into thermal throttling territory in about 55seconds. This is a pre built system and I'm planning to put on a 212evo either...
