Discussion What Were the CPU and Specs of Your First PC?

My first personal PC was DELL's top of the line Dimension 1000R in 1999. Intel pentium 3 @ 1.0GHz, 512mb ram, 20GB IDE HD, Sound Blaster Live 5.1 sound card, DVD R/W Drive, Floppy Drive with Windows ME (upgraded to XP). Still have it to this day and it still boots up and runs.

Question Dual Monitor Setup - One specific game will not run on main monitor when others games do ?

I fixed it, i just forgot to come back and post so if anyone comes across this. So when i tried to drag the game from my secondary monitor to my main monitor it just went to a black screen windowed box. Out of 83 games in my library this was the only game that did that ( i launched every game to...

Question Dual Monitor Setup - One specific game will not run on main monitor when others games do ?

So i am stumped on why my World War Z (via EPIC launcher) will not run on my main monitor but all my other games do. Just to make sure i have gone back into my windows settings and my Nvidia control panel to make sure my main monitor is set to main monitor and it was. None of the games in my...

[SOLVED] Corsair Commander Pro fan curve help

Yes, when it's set to fixed RPM it will stay at that RPM no matter what which is fine for gaming. If you're doing any benchmarking i always max them out for max cooling. Typically from what i have seen with Corsair fans, it never reaches the max RPM. Mine will get up to like 2,360+ RPMs...

[SOLVED] Corsair Commander Pro fan curve help

Man i used to use the fan curve option but it takes a lot of time dialing in that curve to keep that annoying "up & down" on the fans. I used the CPU package for the sensor when i was doing that. I find it more satisfying to use the fixed RPM option instead of the fan curve. set the fans to a...

[SOLVED] At my wits end with Corsair iCue h115i RGB Pro XT - RGB Lights Not Working

You have a few options. Did you just purchase the AIO? If you are able (and want to mess with it) you can take it out and box it up and return it and get the H150i Elite Capellix. It does come with RGB fans as well as the pump is RGB too. That's one possible option. Or to make it easier, you...

[SOLVED] At my wits end with Corsair iCue h115i RGB Pro XT - RGB Lights Not Working

You are correct, the fans that come with the XT cooler are not RGB, only the pump. I didn't know if you swapped them out for different Corsair RGB fans or not. If not then yeah they are not RGB. You will need to swap them out for RGB fans. I swapped mine out for the ML120 RED LED fans because i...

[SOLVED] At my wits end with Corsair iCue h115i RGB Pro XT - RGB Lights Not Working

The 3 pin cable coming from the AIO pump goes to the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard. How i have mine wired is, Connect the fan power cables for the AIO to the three 4 pin cables coming off the pump (Square block that mounts on top of the CPU) - This covers getting power to the fans...

[SOLVED] I9 10900k overheats in stress test and in games

I would certainly reseat the cooler with fresh thermal paste and then see what your temps are. When you entered the BIOS for the first time, you should have seen a pop up asking you what cooling method you're using and asks you to select.

News Rocket Lake Eight Core CPU Is A Strong Rival For Ryzen 7 5800X

Taking these results with a grain of salt. Hopefully this was just a engineering sample as the multicore score was lackluster and would expect a bit higher turbo boost clock. If this does turn out to be close to what we will see in the "K" sku, it looks like a lot of people like myself will...

[SOLVED] What brand mobo to buy?

I agree with this. To prove this point, i am a MSI fanboy. I prefer upper tier board for overclocking stability and like MSI over the other board MFG's due to their BIOS is better, more user friendly for novice users and well laid out. Its just a better BIOS IMO that is well thought out.

    [SOLVED] Z490 motherboard for 10700

Neither LoL. If i just had to pick one, i guess it would be the Gigabyte board. I'm just a MSI fanboy due to i have never had an issue with their boards and their BIOS is much better than ASUS and Gigabyte. It's more user friendly and well laid out. Just my $0.02 cents.
