LinkedIn's Password Breach and Official Response Dissected

I think other personal information has gotten in the hands of spammers. I think this for 3 reasons. 1) An email account I rarely use (but have had for 10 years) was hacked this morning and locked out for sending spam. It had the same password as my LinkedIn account. 2) My friends gmail...

Rumor: LG to Show Atom-Based Android Smartphone

darkchazzBut what about app compatibility? Anything using just the SDK should be fine. If they used the NDK (native development kit) and didn't cross compile for x86 then those apps won't work until they do and release an update.

Gigabyte Debuts AMD Fusion Mini-ITX Mainboard

Simple11I think your mistaken on the idea of a htpc oafed. It's not a shuttle pc were building, but a power efficient home theatre pc. Asus has a great 330 series atom + first gen ION with DDR3 and WIFI-n, is the best choice for a htpc right now. I agree that an Atom based HTPC is the best...

Gigabyte Debuts AMD Fusion Mini-ITX Mainboard

The new Zotac for Sandy Bridge has this beat HANDS DOWN. This one is missing both HD bitstreaming and likely 3D blueray support (only HDMI 1.3!) which make it a HUGE fail if they intend for it to compete in mid to high end HTPC builds. Link to the mini-ITX board I am excited about (Zotac for...

GPU Transcoding: Nvidia CUDA vs ATI AVT

I'm leaning toward ATI then since I prefer PowerDirector 7 over what Pagasys offers. I may switch to Nvidia only if Adobe announces CUDA support (and not AVT support) for transcoding in Premiere Pro/Elements before Core i7 is launched. Adobe may also lose a sale to Cyberlink this year...

GPU Transcoding: Nvidia CUDA vs ATI AVT

I'm getting a new rig as soon as Core i7 is released. I also just got an HD camcorder that produces AVCHD files. I *really really* want my video editing software to take advantage of my GPU. Here is what I have been able to find out so far: ATI AVT (Accelerated Video Transcoding) will be...

Radeon HD 4870: Better Than GTX 260!

The real key is what all the prices on these cards are when Nehalem is released. LOTS of enthusiasts are planning a Nehalem build toward the end of the year. I image they will be getting 4850/4870s or GTX260/GTX280s. All depending on where the prices are I imagine.

AMD's Physics Secret Revealed: It's Havok

So will games support BOTH Havok and Phyx or do we get screwed if we can't predict which one will come out ahead and be used by the game developers?
