    Bizarre Shutoff Issue

I am having a very strange issue with my computer. If I start it 'cold' (meaning it's been off more than 3-4 hours), the computer will boot up, allow me to login to windows, function completely normally, and then turn itself off suddenly after 5-10 minutes. However, it doesn't completely turn...

    Possible PSU prob

I am having a strange problem, I believe it is PSU related, but perhaps not. When I first cold boot my comp (after say 12+ hours of it being off), after about 20 minutes of activity (usually gaming, but not always), the screen briefly freezes, then the computer completely powers down. After it...

MSI P6N Diamond and 1066mhz Ram BSOD

If it's 1066 RAM, it's almost guaranteed it's rated for higher than the 1.8 volt JEDEC standard. He needs to make sure in the bios he ups the ram voltage to whatever OCZ recommends. All OCZ 1066 RAM on the Egg is rated for either 2.1 or 2.3

    about 680i

See Pavel's response.... if you want to use SCSI drives, RAID or no RAID, you will need an add in card, that mobo does not natively support SCSI (I don't know if any mobos have native SCSI support).

    New PC Case Needed

I'm a big fan of the coolermaster cosmos 1000. Maximum PC made it their Dream Machine case, where it had 2 8800 gtx in sli with room for the radiator inside the case. Plus, it's $100 cheaper than the TJ09 (which is also a great case).

    Need Advice!!!

$1300 is a pretty good budget for a gaming PC, usually when my friends ask me, I say you can build one for 800-1000 dollars. The reason someone told you you only need the 320 mb GTS instead of the 640mb gts is that the extra memory on the 640mb really only comes into play at the higher...

does this sound card have digital outs for z5500??

The flexijack is called that because it can serve multiple purposes. For instance, on a 7.1 system, you need 4 ports to do analog surround. In that case, it can be configured as one of the 4. But, the cost of this is that is HAS to be "mini-jack" (I call it stereo plug, but whatever)...

    X-Fi Fatal1ty Cards Comparison

I agree, the only significant difference is the bezel (x-ram is unused in a vast majority of games as I understand). However..... getting the bezel for $20 more is pretty nice. That thing costs about $70 bucks to buy as an upgrade, so I consider paying $20 more pretty cool. The main reason I...

does this sound card have digital outs for z5500??

This blogger had the same problem. You can digital out by purchasing a Toslink to mini-jack adapter, then configuring your x-fi to do digital output.

    is this a good case?

Just from personal experience, I don't like cases with 80mm fans. They have to spin faster and louder compared to 120mm. This case reminds me of my Thermaltake Xaser, with 80mm fans on all sides, which are a pain to get to and clean usually. The other strike against it is I've never heard of...

    Question for the Corsair VX's

I got an email back from Corsiar customer support saying the 550VX will be out in early Sept. The HX models are modular, the VX are not. The VX also have 1 12v rail, the HX have multiple.

Definite Answer Needed: GA-965P-DS3 and 6750!!!!

He tried to run an e6400 at x9 multi w/ a 333 FSB, which would make it effectively running like a e6850, but he couldn't, b/c you can't unlock the multiplier on non extreme editions. Point is, he couldn't even get the e6850 to boot with it's x9 multi and the 266 FSB. Therefore, his mobo won't...
