Need some advice upgrading my current desktop for new games

I would go with at least a 2gb video card, not that the 560 is bad, but things I've read say that games will probably start using 2gb in the next year or so, and if you rebuild later, you will likely carry the new card over. I ended up going with a 2gb Radeon 7850 which I'm very happy with...

Budget gaming; FX, Athlon or Pentium?

4gb is enough realistically. Here in the states I usually go with 8 when I'm doing a build, 8 might be overkill but the price is like 10-20 dollars difference usually.

Don't understand the idea of not ordering online. I've ordered on tigerdirect newegg eBay etc, very few troubles but do what you want, we are trying to help you get a good deal. Either way don't bother with the 630 or 6570. Minimum card you want is a gtx 650 or a radeon 7750. If you are...

How will 3570 be more future proof as socket 1155 is going out soon. With AMD they might release steamroller next year. As for amd you can say what you want, I've been using amd CPUs for the last 15 years, all of my CPUs have always been reliable and given me good performance.

    AMD Budget Build

You can say all you want they aren't buy I've been working on computers since I was 17 and have been a tech for at least 5-6 years professionally. I am simply speaking for what I have seen, and that was only 1 of 2 maybe 2 CPU failures I've seen. Considering the CPU was only 3 months old and...

You might consider the fx 4300 you listed also that would probably do ok too. Between the phenom 2, fx 4300 or Athlon quad get either the phenom 2 or or fx. Both of those should be great at overclocking. I went from an Athlon quad to an 8 core fx and love it but that's a bigger jump, but my...

Should. Between the 2 get the phenom. If its a black edition you can overclock for better performance. Also I would get the most modern board I could for future upgradeability. I think I once bought a USB floppy drive on eBay for like 5 bucks.

Depending on budget give the gigabyte 970a-ud3 a look. That's the board I've got. Seems like a rock solid board. I definitely can recommend it. Like I said I've got my 8120 at 4ghz on stock voltage. The other thing I do recommend if you get the fx 6300 is get an aftermarket cooler. I do...

Budget gaming; FX, Athlon or Pentium?

Get the 631 no question. I had an Athlon dual core before and I'm a gamer, had CPU bottlenecks but when I went to my Athlon quad it was quite a jump. I've upgraded since then, but really the quad did everything I wanted just wanted a shiny new 8 core.

Other thing check on ebay dude. I sold my old gts 450 for like 40 bucks counting shipping on there. If you got one of those you'd probably be almost at the performance of the 7750. Granted the gts 450 is 2 generations old but I think the 450 would smoke the cards you are currently going after...

I can tell you on my fx 8120 I got an overclock to 4 ghz with no extra voltage. I have a v6 gt for cooling, but even a hyper 212 would probably not do bad. But the overclock for me was a nice bump, as my CPU was 3.1 ghz stock, but so far it does great at 4 ghz.

Agreed if you game you will be low settings with the other cards

Budget gaming; FX, Athlon or Pentium?

All those are not going to be great. You want at minimum a 7750. For what you would get for the money locally that's not too bad, but for gaming in my opinion the minimum you want is a 7750. Would getting the athlon system and then ordering a 7750 be out of the question? I think most of the...
