Oh, specifically, the Bus Interface settings. It's supposed to be running at PCI-E x8 3.0, however it's only running at x1 1.1. I tried using the render test (the little question mark thingy), and it didn't change.

Okay, why is the E8600 better than the D945? Just curious.

I am getting an old Dell OptiPlex 760 for school use, and it comes with the Pentium D 945. However, I have a Core 2 Duo E8600 lying around, and I was wondering if it would provide better performance for all my school-multitasking usage. Thanks!

Changing the memory timings didn't work, but I increased some of the other voltages that were in the bios, and was able to get 5 GHz stable. Thanks for all the help!
