Have you tried rurning it off in nvidia control panel ? In Nvidia control panel > Change resolution > Output dynamic range change from limited to full. In Nvidia control panel > Adjust desktop color settings > Check the box that says Other applications control color settings.

From what I've read your xmp effects the memory module in your cpu making it work harder creating more heat so that is normal. In my bios it warnes me that i need a decent water cooling solution if im using xmp. I have a 7700k delinding it and replacing the thermal greese with something better...

Has he tried cycling his ram i have had the same issue with bad ram or a bad ram slot on the mobo. I would try just using the one ram stick and booting the system with it in 1 slot at a time.

I would put my money on failing psu. I had the same thing happen with my 980ti recently. The power supply was becoming unstable only while playing video games, As soon as i replaced the PSU i have never had an issue again.
