Thanks for the help!! I think I figured it out and it works now. I used a old logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo from my test computer and that model works!

I have a similar problem. My Pi4 works fine with a USB tethered keyboard and mouse, but when I use a known good wireless combo, both slow down and lag, and I turned off the the Wifi with no difference. I have tried to use a USB powered extender to avoid any WiFi interference, but no joy - The...
