I went out so by the time I got home it moved to 97% so I let it finish. Came to SMART Hard Disk Error. The Smart hard disk check has detected an imminent failure. To ensure not data loss, please back up the content immediately and run the Hard Disk Test in System Diagnostics... Dammit. :(

chkdsk c: /r /x has been running since yesterday, some corrupt entries deleted, some "unreadable"... at the moment on 25% so fingers crossed. if not will do what you said Colif, and then... see what next is gonna drive me nuts :D
