That's an FM2/FM2+ motherboard.... You'd have to upgrade the motherboard as well as processor, there's no processor for that motherboard fast enough to match your graphics card.

Like grimfox says, you'll have to look in the motherboard manual. Also check the website of the manufacturer, you're probably not the only one with this problem, so maybe they have something on their support forum about this?

I'd say if it doesn't hold up to spec on XMP the RAM manufacturer overspecced and hoped to get away with it... Like probably 50% of the high spec ones for low price.. (high speed for low price is certainly a red flag in the RAM business)

Any serious CPU upgrade would mean moving away from LGA1366 to a new platform.. The best you can do on your current platform in CPU is an i7-990X Extreme Edition. But it's not really going to do much for you in terms of gaming performance.. A high end GPU would do more.

Yes, with an "active" adapter you can convert pretty much anything. DVI-A is found on most on-board and budget card systems. We use a lot of passive adapters in the office to get picture on our ancient screens.. But on "real" graphics cards, I'm not sure they'd bother with this sort of backward...

Sounds like"you're another victim of RAM manufaturers overspeccing their RAM.. You should see their speed numbers as a "best case" scenario. I find that few of them live up to the speed they advertise.
