[SOLVED] pc shutting down after gaming/stress

I have been building and working on computers for over 25 years. My first pc was an 8088. To say I have valuable experience you can find useful is an understatement. Heed this advice. There is no better place to NOT save money than on your power supply. You can survive with cheap ram...

[SOLVED] Need new Raid drives do I need to do anything else but replace them in the slots?

Well, assuming it's a RAID 0 array and has no redundancy, we'll assume you've no data to back up. The proper way to do it would be to enter the RAID bios menu, delete the existing array, shut down, remove the old drives and install the new drives, start the computer, enter the RAID bios setup...

[SOLVED] My kinda new gaming pc has a problem since i bought it.

Honestly, you may simply be discovering a truism with PC gaming. The low end is pretty slow, the mid range is pretty good, and the top end is pretty expensive. Yeah, I hear great things about Ryzen 3's price vs performance. But boy they sure sell a lot of Ryzen 5's and 7's. As tough as it is...

[SOLVED] My kinda new gaming pc has a problem since i bought it.

Firstly I would ask are you playing games that list 16 GB of ram as being "Recommended"? If a game says 8 gb "Minimum", it may run on 8 gb. But it may not run WELL on 8 gb, which is probably why they list 16 GB as "Recommended".

[SOLVED] Why are my CPU temps so high?

To give you a comparison, I have an i7 9700K on a Z390 board with a Corsair H110i cooler. With Seti@Home running on all 8 cores 100% load, my 9700K MAXES at 70c, most CPU temps tend to hover around 58-64c. I never really gave my H110i much props, honestly, because it's a pretty "mid-range"...

    External Hard Drive not Displaying

Chances are you "found a hard drive" (by "found a hard drive" I will assume that means you dug it out of someone's trash or stole it or something, as hard drives don't typically sprout from the grass in the yard and thus are rarely "found") that's either broken, or encrypted. One we can't help...

    [SOLVED] Can my psu handle a GTX 1060 and i7 7700k ?

I agree with Supahos. I would upgrade it. I would say 650 watt would be a minimum. 750 probably better, and 850 would give you lots of headroom. When I spec out a power supply, I typically look at the max load it will encounter (CPU, GPU, and rest of the system) and get a power supply that...

[SOLVED] need help picking out parts for a friends gaming PC

I will say only this. If it's going to be doubling as a workstation doing video editing or something, then I support the decision to go with Ryzen, they're great all-around cpus. But if it's going to be strictly a gaming pc? I'm afraid Intel is the wtg. Whether you get a budget-friendly i5...

    [SOLVED] Good silent keyboard?

Logitech gaming keyboards use their own Romer G switches. I have 2 high-end Logitech gaming keyboards and find them both to be very quiet (a Logitech 910 Orion Spark and the 613 Wireless). Definitely not as "clicky" sounding as other keyboards. Now let me speak for a second on your budget...

    I7 9700k overheating stock

Gaming is kind of a hit-or-miss CPU stress test, especially since most games won't use all available cores. So I decided to load seti@home on my i7 9700K rig, just to see if my 9700K with all 8 cores loaded 100% would run hot like yours is. After giving it enough time to stabilize, I've come...
