Greetings all,
I am currently using 8GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 1866MHz DDR3 (9-9-9-27, 1.5V) and am looking to upgrade to 16GB but these are no longer available.
Would I be able to add 2x 4GB Corsair Vengeance LP 1866MHz DDR3 (9-9-9-24, 1.5V) to these without any issues? Or would it...
Greetings all,
I recently moved and the only desk at the new place is a metal one.
Will it be safe for me to put my computer on the metal desk and carry on as always or are there precautions I should be taking?
The desk has rubber feet and stands on a carpet. My pc case has rubber feet as...
Alright. I didn't think there would be any problems. I usually just check on the forums to make sure - these components can be quite expensive.
Final question - would you use the same DIMM slots for the new RAM or should I use the ones that aren't currently in use?
Thanks for the advice and help, guys. I got myself the 1060 6GB and it is just great!
I have a follow-up question regarding RAM:
I am currently using 8GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 1866MHz DDR3 (9-9-9-27, 1.5V).
Would upgrading to 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz DDR3 (9-9-9-24, 1.5V)...
I use both ssd's and hdd's in my setup.

Games I play include Civilization V, GTA V, TESV: Skyrim, Shadow of Mordor (Shadow of War, in future), Assassin's Creed: BLack Flag (Assassin's Creed Origins, in future).

Would upgrading to 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz DDR3 (9-9-9-24, 1.5V) be an upgrade and improve performance and could there be any potential compatibility issue with my mobo because of...
Ah, right. Sorry, I see now the guy was referring to the H61 chipset.
Oh, and thanks for the reminder regarding display ports. The one monitor I currently use does use a VGA connection. I'll just buy an HDMI-to-VGA converter.
On a confusing note - I posted a question on a thread I came across earlier today before deciding to create this one and found this a few minutes ago: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3550848/suggestion-graphics-card-required.html
Buyer's remorse is a good point. I did slightly regret buying the 950 instead of waiting to buy a 960. I'm most likely going to end up taking the plunge and just buying the 6GB version.
I'll keep this new card until I have enough saved up to buy a new gen processor, mobo, Win10 etc.
So...
This is all great news so far.
The only bad thing is the strain the GTX 1060 6GB will put on my budget... Is the 3GB version not even worth considering?
