Question Is my i9 13900k showing signs of instability

@Lutfij Motherboard is a GIGABYTE Z790 UD AX. BIOS Version is F13. I'm not sure about the 14th Gen upgrade, I might have to ask Intel if they would allow it. @dwd999 CPU Cooler is GIGABYTE Aorus Waterforce X360 AIO Liquid Cooler. I have fans in the front and back, case shoots out air through...

Question Is my i9 13900k showing signs of instability

This is my third i9 - replaced it after I updated the BIOS to the 0x12B microcode patch. After a couple of Unreal Engine games started to crash on me, I got a bit paranoid about the CPU degrading again, and at the suggestion of Intel Support on /r/Intel I ran Intel XTU's CPU stress test for 30...

Question My PC keeps rebooting randomly and Event Viewer always shows it as "Event ID 41" ?

Yep, found that thanks to a couple of redditors. Was a very frustrating couple of days of troubleshooting. I had to go into the BIOS and disable C8 and C10 c-states. I forgot to update the post, my bad.

Question On my third i9 13900k - I've just upgraded my BIOS to the 0x12B patch. Would this be enough to fix the degrading CPUs ?

Thanks, I did upgrade to the F12 bios the moment I got the new CPU and put the "Intel Default Setting" to Performance. After this I should be good right? Also I've another question - I cannot disable "Multicore Enhancement" in BIOS if the Intel Default Settings are chosen. Should I temporarily...

Question On my third i9 13900k - I've just upgraded my BIOS to the 0x12B patch. Would this be enough to fix the degrading CPUs ?

I've read how it is a voltage issue, and even after the BIOS update the voltage was exceeding the safe limit. So I got a little paranoid.

Question On my third i9 13900k - I've just upgraded my BIOS to the 0x12B patch. Would this be enough to fix the degrading CPUs ?

I'm asking this because a couple of people online are saying that 0x12B patch isn't enough and you need to manually undervolt/change some settings in the BIOS. To be frank, all of that sounded a bit too technical for me, so I'd rather not mess around in the BIOS settings and brick my PC.

Question Some Gigabyte Z790 motherboards are facing a rare issue where it just randomly reboots after applying the Intel microcode patch (the 0x129 version) ?

No I did not overclock. I'm very tech illiterate, so I do not mess around with overclocking/undervolting in fear of breaking something. I already RMA'd the CPU previously and got a new one which has been running fine for a year. Purchased PC on April 2023, CPU started failing in July when...

Question Some Gigabyte Z790 motherboards are facing a rare issue where it just randomly reboots after applying the Intel microcode patch (the 0x129 version) ?

It has been a nightmare the past few days. My PC would just randomly go black and reboot. Event Viewer always showed it as "Event ID 41 - Kernel Power". I've tested my memory, PSU and CPU and everything was fine. I even clean installed Windows to no avail. I scoured the internet for a fix until...

Question My PC keeps rebooting randomly and Event Viewer always shows it as "Event ID 41" ?

Ok, I just ran sfc /scannow as admin and it said "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them". Could that be the cause of this? Never mind, it happened again.

Question My PC keeps rebooting randomly and Event Viewer always shows it as "Event ID 41" ?

There's no rhyme or reason to this crash/rebooting. I was working on my laptop with a single Microsoft Edge tab open on the desktop when it rebooted. I don't even see a blue screen of death. It just goes black and restarts. First time it happened when a Steam game was updating. These are the...

Question [HELP] Updating to the new intel microcode patch BIOS version as someone who is completely new to all of this.

Thank you. I did update the BIOS and everything went swimmingly except for one weird issue where I lost my Windows license and had to re-activate it through the troubleshooter. After the RMA the new CPU has been good so far, I've ran a few shader compilation sequences in UE games with no issues...

Question [HELP] Updating to the new intel microcode patch BIOS version as someone who is completely new to all of this.

Hey thanks for the quick reply and for the video link, seems relatively easy to follow for a complete beginner. Do I have to tinker with the Intel ME Software or will the BIOS update apply the microcode fix by itself?

Question [HELP] Updating to the new intel microcode patch BIOS version as someone who is completely new to all of this.

Hey y'all, I'm not a big PC guy, been a console gamer my entire life with a fairly capable laptop to play Civ 6 and a few Paradox games. Decided to buy a new PC and installed an i9 13900k with it. Within like a month, two Unreal Engine games started crashing. Thankfully the store that built the...

Question Connecting my TV to my PC with a lengthy HDMI cable for 4K/60fps gaming - Any potential drawbacks I should be aware of?

Thanks, I'm pretty sure I could go lower in length since my setup is in the hall too. I was buying 15m just to be on the safer side.
