I see you have updated the post with your CPU. Indeed, streaming with that will not work well at all. A new Ryzen 7 1700x (as an example) will have a total performance of x4 what you have, easily.

Depending on the games you play, a 1070, 1080 or 1080 Ti can all have relevance, depending on the prices you can get them at. 1080p doesn't require a lot, but 144hz does demand a bit. I have a 1070, and it can run most games on max settings 60 fps 1600p, which can be compared somewhat to 144...

As long as the connections (and cables) support the required bandwidth, there is no problem to mix and match resolutions and refresh rates. If you use adapters anywhere, though, those can mess things up (such as not letting you select 144hz).

AIDA64 can do this through the use of the OSD-function. It actually uses Fraps to get the fps, though, so you got to have Fraps running (but you can hide the counter in Fraps itself). You can choose how often it updates. The solution is a bit overkill, but at least it's an option...
