If you're gaming on a 720p monitor and 'really' not in the condition to afford anything higher, then go for it. A 6670 will run just fine on your monitor with the latest games provided you tune down a bit on the settings. Its the best card you can get with your current budget.:)

Did you installed the intel HD4000 drivers 1st before nvidia's. Cause you need to install it sequentially.

My suggestion is for you to wait and gather more bucks for the R7 250/250X if you could. It would benefit you for a longer run my friend :) A 250 will perform about 2X the performance of a 6670 but a 250X will do far more.

The GTX 650 is actually just a tier lower in performance compared to the Jaguar powered PS4. Even so you would expect an almost similar experience in terms of graphics.

What games are you playing? The 290 is always preferable if you're into games like BF4. But if for Watch Dogs will play better on a 770.

Usually with both options present, the HDMI will be filed in 1st. DVI later for GPU's without HDMI support. But still the quality would usually be identical. Yup no difference in image quality. It's just the DVI on your R9 GPU carry an extra analog signal for monitors with VGA only support.

I would suggest you to back up your files. Do a reformat and a fresh install of windows 8.1.

I think your display cable is not connected to the port on the graphics card. It should be okay once you connect it.
