So the answer is to put screen 1 and 3 on hdmi, and Screen 2 on dp? Why do they respond differently when switch off?

Primary is dp, other two are HDmi

If I turn 2 back on, nothing happens. If I turn 1 back on it goes back to being monitor 3 again. The wallpaper changes to my chosen one for that screen.

For some reason I don't get this, if I turn off monitor 1 and 2 it swaps all of the settings, including the wallpaper to monitor 3.

To be fair, I'm just pluging in a power cable and an hdmi cable to use this to display sensor readings and pretty pictures, so my needs are pretty much just plug and play. No hacking or tinkering. I only have a first generation pi.

But... I'm lazy I want easy answers delivered to me in bite sized peices that mean I won't have to think for myself or take responsibility for anything. Like when I was in college and twitter told me how to feel about stuff.

It's a cheap Chinese display, so no schematics. It seems to run OK on 5v, except for when I try to use an extension cable, with all that I've tried the screen flashes slightly but won't turn on. I had the same issue when I tried using a sub 5v power supply.

OK, I understand that you're trying to be helpful, but I would appreciate it if you could help with the original question that I asked, and not look for alternatives. As was stated in the original question, there is a stipulation that this be done on existing hardware.
