I started out by just launching into a game with an fps counter (FFXIV), then i moved to using passmark and running a 3d benchmark. I score about 4000 using the monitor and about 6.5k without it.

I forgot to put that in the list of things i already did. Yeah, I have it set as the preferred processor in the Nvidia control panel. I tried setting individual games to use the 1070 as well.
