Hmm.. my only real reason is just paranoia. First time doing it and just worried of it going wrong and it did. Your point makes more sense to me now.
Is Macrium a free software by the way? I’m pretty sure SK Hynix has their own software as well if it isn’t free.
It is Gen 4 capable
Both have no heatsink. Regarding temps I’m not super picky. I know that the P41 is a little more energy efficient but laptops run hot no matter what and it doesn’t really bother me too much.
I’m concerned about the cloning software just because my previous cloned drive...
Hey, I have a Legion Slim 5 and I’ve been waiting for sales to start so I can grab a 2TB SSD. I’m currently debating between the WD SN850X and the SK Hynix Platinum P41. They’re both in the $100 range but something I’m really looking for is a sound cloning software. I recently cloned a Sabrent...
Ah I didn’t even think about that, you make a good point. I’ve done a bit a research and it definitely doesn’t seem like Lenovo has too much bloateare, just McAfee and some other things. I will most likely go with the cloning method then, thanks a bunch!
I've got two M.2 drives with one being occupied by the SKHynix with the OS and whatever else apps Lenovo decided to load on it. My thinking was that if I was going to get an upgrade, I should just replace the SKHynix and get a fresh install since I would be buying a faster SSD anyway.
Is Samsung's cloning software sound? I recently used Acronis True Image to clone an old SSD into a Sabrent Rocket and it died in about a month and a half.
Since I've just bought the thing, should I just buy one of these and put a clean install of Windows 11 and take out the SKHynix? I have a Sabrent Rocket lying around that I could also slap in.
Hey, I've recently purchased a Lenovo Legion Slim 5 and it has a SKHynix HFS512GEJ9X115N 512GB. I'm looking to expand with a budget 2TB drive to store mainly games with my budget being around the $80-$100 range.
I've done a little research and am currently looking at:
WD Black SN770 ($100)...
If I do choose an air cooler, which do you suggest with the NR200P or Q58 cases? I already have a Hyper 212 BE in my build right now, can that be salvaged?
Any tips on using AIO’s? I’ve never touched them before and this will be my second build but it definitely sounds better than air because of the limited air flow in the case.
Hey, I've been considering upgrading and downsizing my ATX PC to Mini ITX for space and travel reasons.
My Current Specs:
MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max
G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 3600 16 gb
Ryzen 5 3600
EVGA 650 B5 80+ Bronze
MSI GTX 1660 Super
I'm looking into getting one of the cheaper Mini ITX mobos...
M.2 died, replaced it with a Samsung 970 Pro. Thankfully saved my pictures and videos prior but will look into saving the miniscule amount of things on it.
