ASUS Maximus VII is basically one of the best choices for this headset in terms of on board sound. I don't think an external sound card will do much of a difference except if it's going to be very expensive maybe. It has 8 channel outputs and its drivers have a 7.1 digital surround option...

Hmmm... Have you ever cleaned your registry with CCleaner? Also did you check your connection speed? Maybe your problem lies on your internet.
