    Cloning Win7 boot to SSD

I spent days trying to do what you want to do and can only say, do a fresh install. You won't be sorry. With Windows 7 64 bit, Photoshop CS5, Photoshop Elements 9, MS Office 2010, etc. I am only using half of an 80GB SSD. A secondary (SATA 6) HDD takes care of the yeoman's work. This thing boots...

    New build or upgrade?

I would definitely upgrade. It's amazing how much improvement you can get for the buck today. I just did it and couldn’t be happier.

    Digital Photography Desktop. Photoshop, Lightroom

I just assembled a system very similar to what you want to do. The main drive is an Intel 80 Gb SSD that is only half full. I relegate data and housekeeping files to a Sata 6.0 hard drive. Boot up times and CS5 times are amazing. (Windows 7 Pro 64 bit) It's really worthwhile. There's not much...

Please take a quick look at my potential build (checkout view)

Here is a reference that I found useful in designing my "Photoshop" machine. I learned a ton from it. http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb401088&sliceId=1

Please take a quick look at my potential build (checkout view)

It's smart to stick with one source, get everything at once. Then assemble before any return expiration date hits you. If it drags out, you will have trouble getting RMA's. If you use Photoshop, I have a few suggestions. Like a 64 bit OS, more memory & another HD. This makes Photoshop much...

    Another I7 build... your thoughts?

Don't forget a good CPU cooler. They are a study in themselves. Luckily Tom's H. has a new report. But be sure to get an LGA1336 capability. There are more coming out real soon. For your planning, some have to be mounted on the back of the MB. I have a somewhat similar setup with Vista Home...

    How is this build?

Yep, you CAN overclock 920's & 940's but I suggest you read this article before decide what you want: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/overclocking-core-i7,2063.html

    How is this build?

I have that motherboard and love it. To use that much memory, you have to use a 64 bit OS. I'm sorry I stopped at Vista Home Premium (64). I should have gone all the way. Core i7 920 & 940 are locked, minimal overclocking. Hard Drive: the latest Seagate 750GB (32mb cache) has new technology...

    2 motherboards....which one?

I have been using the P6T Deluxe for 6 weeks and can vouch for everything working great. I have 12 GB of (low voltage) memory and it runs cool. Be aware that Core i7 920 & 940 are locked.
