Almost everything about this generation/launch feels half baked. the performance/spec gap between the 5090 and 5080 is larger than past generations low launch supply too much focus on fake frames and not on raw power I can't help but feel this is what happens when Nvidia has no competition...

Not sure why there would be much demand, since the benchmarks aren't showing that big of a performance increase over the 40 series.

I don't understand why this is news. All these things do is predict what word comes after another word. They don't "know" or "understand" anything. They are simply stochastic parrots. We simply need to educate the public on what they do and stop labeling these things as "AI".

Good luck with that. I've owned a Tesla for 2 years now and I'm honestly not sure if I would buy one again. There are a fair amount of other good options now. Once all the other car companies can use Tesla's charging infrastructure (which is easily the best), it's a pretty even playing field...

Good. Literally everyone knew it was a bad idea to call a "4070" a 4080 12 GB, given the obvious gap in performance. I'm honestly amazed that this ever got approved in the first place.

I'm still frustrated that we haven't started treating broadband like a utility. It's as necessary as electricity and arguably more needed than land lines. I don't necessarily think we need 100/20 as the minimum, but we need guaranteed broadband service to 99+% of homes in the US. It should be...

Any handheld with a pi4 or cm4 now seems outdated, given the alternatives that exist now at similar prices.

Very glad I tested the waters with an old card I had (1080 ti) and got out 6 months ago. I still made a little money, but it wasn't really worth it.

If you're going to spend that much money, you're FAR better off buying something like a Herman Miller chair.

Picked this game up on Steam a while ago. Glad to see it's getting the VR treatment. As far as puzzle games go, this is one of the best. Really interesting storyline that you can either ignore or explore as much as you want to.
